III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection conducted by Jason Musick of Colorado Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining, and Safety (Division). Dan Hernandez of the Division accompanied the inspection. The <br />weather was clear and sunny. The ground was damp due to recent snowfall, although the ground was <br />cleaz of snowfall at the time of the inspection. Inspection frequency for this revoked permit site is <br />three partial inspections and one complete inspection per yeaz. <br />Signs and Markers <br />The DRMS sign was in place next to Fourmile Road and found to contain all information to be in <br />compliance. <br />Support Facilities <br />No problems were found in the azeas of the north access road and the south access road. <br />Hydrolo¢ic Balance <br />The lower reclaimed sediment pond had good vegetation cover and the embankments appeared stable. <br />There were no signs of erosion in or azound the ditches or sediment pond. The upper sediment pond <br />appeared in good condition. <br />Backtill and Grading <br />Reclaimed slopes and the former portal/surface facilities area on the north side of the road appeared in <br />good condition. There were no signs of slope instability or excessive erosion. The slopes south of the <br />road appeared stable with no signs of excessive erosion. <br />The regrading and backfill of the air portal south of the road has collapsed. This azea will need to be <br />backfilled, graded and revegetated in order to cover the air portal It appeared that the seal to the portal <br />was still stable. <br />Reveeetation <br />The site has good vegetative cover with minimal evidence of weeds. <br />3 <br />
