(Page 2) MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1979-102 INSPECTION DATE 7/28/03 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC This was an inspection of the Kygie Gravel Pit conducted by Erica Crosby of the Division of Minerals and Geology. Kathy Hockin of Ed Hockin Trucking was present during the inspection. An 110c Mining and Reclamation Permit was issued to Cross Mountain Ranch Ltd. on June 21, 1985 for a total permit area of 9.0 acres. The site is located 20 miles south of Hayden in Routt County, Colorado. The site is located on the top of an old glacial moraine. Mining involves lowering the hill until gravel resources are exhausted. Mining slopes will be maintained at 2h:iv. Topsoil will be replaced to a 6" cover depth. No mining was taking place during the inspection. According to the operator, 1,000 cy will be removed this year. The mine site is located in a very remote area of Routt County resulting in sporadic mining. A mine identification sign was posted at the entrance tc the site and boundary markers were noted by fences and stakes. Topsoil is stored along the northern boundary and the fines are stockpiled along the lower eastern boundary. Mining slopes vary from 2h:ly on the upper portion of the mine. The lower portion of the mine consists of the crushing facility, scale house and topsoil storage area. The Division currently holds a financial warranty in the amount of $5,747.00. Within 60- days of the inspection, the Division will determine if this amount is adequate to reclaim the site to the standards approved in the reclamation plan.
