MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-~9RO-~aa
INSPECTION DATE: 6-1 ~-~~ INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: RK
The Division conducted a monitoring and construction progress inspection of the site on 6-12-02. Present
during the inspection were Tim Comer and Mark Tidquist of CC8cV and Harry Posey of the Division. The
physical inspection of the site began around the ARD expansion area, work was progressing, and no major
problem noted. Continued the inspection to the Phase IV (a) area, both clay and geomembrane liner work
was being conducted. The geomembrane work was mainly repair work. Due to the clay not meeting the
required moisture content only compaction work was anticipated through the day. According to Golder QA/
QC personnel, they do not anticipate geomemebarne deployment work until the next day. The already
deployed area was walked and inspected, no major problem noted. Continued the inspection to the Primary
& secondary and LOB area for Phase IV. According to Mark Tidquist, the work in the area should be
completed by the end of next month. Storm water drainage in the area, appeared to be adequate and in
good repair.
Inspected the South Cresson mine pit, it was not active at the time of the inspection, no problem noted.
Continued the inspection to the East Cresson area where the active mining was taking place. Observed the
mining and loading activity in the area. Continued the inspection to the external pond area, the water and
sediment was being pumped out by Ames Construction. According to Mark Tidquist, once all the sediment
and water is pumped out, Golder will walk the liner to identify any defects and Poly Flex will implement any
repair work as necessary. While in the area, the following readings were recorded from the Low volume
solution collection transducers. # 1 was recorded at 11.4 inches of head and # 2 was recorded at 9.2.
Inspected the Phase II pregnant solution collection area and recorded the following readings from the High
and Low volume solution collection transducers. High Volume tarnsducer # 4 was recorded at 14.0 # 5 was
recorded at 19.0 and # 6 was recorded at 27 .8. Low Volume transducer # 1 was recorded at .13 and #2
were recorded at .17. All readings are in feet of hydrostatic head. Continued the inspection to the
underdrain areas, both the 4-inch and south underdrain 24-inch pipes were discharging but very small
amounts, a reflection of the drought conditions. The North underdrain was dry. No problem noted .
I & E Contat Address
NAME: PHIL BARNES
OPERATOR: CC&V
STREET: P.O.BOX 191
CITY/STATE/ZIP: VICTOR, CO 80860
James Stevens
cc: ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
