III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of ob<;ervations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions ttaken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
On June 14, 1995 a partial inspection was conducted at the Golden Eagle Mine. Present during
the inspection was Ralph Lopez. The weather was clear and warm.
The Division had received a telephone call on June 8 from Mr. Presengit Bose. He said that the
mine had inadvertently cleared an area for developmental drilling prior to receiving Division
approval on his property. During this inspection the 35 acre property (3C-11) owned by Mr.
Bose was inspected. The property had an area of about 40 x 40 feet cleared of vegetation for yhe
drill pad. This was mulched and seeded. Photographs were taken. The operator said that this
drill site (#86) is part of a technical revision awaiting Division approval. The area w•as
accidentally cleared and the mistake was caught before drilling started. When the mistake was
noted the land owner was notified. The area was recovered with topsoil, mulched and seeded.
Photos were taken of the area.
The Drill pad for the borehole (#26) that was drilled last year was inspected. This area was
topsoiled, netted and mulched. Some vegetation was coming up with a few wild flowers. The site
of proposed drillhole #87 that is also on the Bose property was also inspected.
