<br />INSPECTION REPORT - PAGE 3 <br />FILE N0. 82-20 <br />DATE: August 1, 1985 <br /> <br />1. The inspectors appreciate the cooperation of the operator during the <br />inspection. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />1. A technical revision should be submitted to fu71y describe the plan for <br />using the lined pond for mill water storage. This should also include a <br />statement as to whether or not the cyanide circuit will be used. <br />Samples of the water to be recycled and cyanide tailings in the pond <br />should be analyzed and submitted as per the permit conditions. The <br />inspectors understand that discharge slurry cannot be sampled if the <br />cyanide circuit is not operating. If it is decided that the cyanide <br />circuit will be used, then a $10,000 financial warranty ($5,000 <br />increase) must be submitted within sixty (60) days. The revision or the <br />financial warranty increase should be submitted prior to October 22, <br />1985. <br />2. Submit certification of the pond construction and drainage control , <br />plan. This is required as per the permit conditions. Submit these <br />certifications to the Division prior to September 15, 1985. <br />3. Investigate the emergency drainage control for possible overflow from <br />the lined pond. Implement construction as required to assure flow to <br />the conventional tailings pond prior to September 15, 1985. <br />4. Remove topsoil from the tailings dam. Stockpile topsoil in a location <br />of limited activity within the permit boundary. Grade and quickseed <br />topsoil stockpile for stabilization. The Division suggests posting <br />topsoil signs on the stockpile. This should be accomplished prior to <br />September 15, 1985. <br />5. All recommendations could be handled by submitting a technical revision <br />to include an updated site map. <br />2139F/cj <br /> <br />
