Assistant State Climatologis4 (303) 491- <br />8545. <br />Lazgest recorded storm on record in the vicinity of Creede occurred near the ttlrn of the century. <br />Recording station was located at an old mine-the Gladstone weather station, on the west side of <br />the continental divide near Creede. The recorded amount was 8 inches during a 24-hour period. <br />No comments were noted in the record. <br />The next highest values on record in the vicinity of Creede aze in the 4-5 inch range. These <br />values have been recorded "a few times". Other major rainfall amounts ate in the 2-3 inch range, <br />which have occurred much more often.. <br />The NOAA Atlas 2 (1973) 100-yeaz, 24-hour rainfall for this ama is 2.8 inches. <br />
