(Page 2)
.~
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1978-323
INSPECTION DATE 11!7/01 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS GRM
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Minerals and Geologys regular monitoring program. The Woodring
Pit is located west of Molina, Colorado on Highway 330. The inspector was accompanied by operator representatives Alan
Parkerson and Milton Derrick. The pit was in operation at the time of the inspection. Several stockpiles of material of various
size were noted. No debris or imported materials were observed.
The mine identification sign was not observed and must be installed per the requirements of Rule 3.1.12 (1) that state: The
operator shall post a sign at the entrance to the mine site which shall be clearly visible from the access road and specify the
following; a) the name of the operator; b) indicate that a reclamation permit for the operation has been issued by the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, and; c) the permit number. The lack of an identification sign is noted as a problem
with the corrective action(s) and correction date specified on the last page of this report.
Pit boundaries were distinctly marked with fencing along the west and north edges. The east and south are daylighted to the
ridge edge. No off site damage was observed over the pit edge. The pit appears to be reaching its maximum acreage under
the permit.
No significant erosional features were noted on the affected areas of the site.
Stormwater management appears to be sufficient with berms along the pit edge and a gradual slope towards the center of the
pit.
No significant infestations of noxious or other problematic weeds were noted on site during this inspection.
Topsoil is being stockpiled separately and seeded to prevent erosion.
Reclamation efforts are to begin soon, per the operator, but no work has commenced as of the date of the inspection.
The reclamation cost estimate was not recalculated as part of this inspection. The current estimate was recalculated less than
three years ago and the operation is in compliance with the approved mine plan and reclamation plan. Therefore, the current
financial warranty is believed to be adequate to reclaim the site per the approved reclamation plan.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Russ Means at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3id Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone no. 970-241-1117.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Alan Parkerson
OPERATOR Parkerson Construction
STREET 710 S. 15'" Street
CITY/STATE2IP Grand Junction.
