(Page 2) MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn-t e~R-nt3n INSPECTION DATE: to-m-ns INSPECTOROS INITIALS: aK OBSERVATIONS The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site as part of sites to be inspected during the fiscal year 2003-2004.The site used to be a small 110 Construction Materials site located approximately 7 miles SOUTH AND 2 MILES EAST of Punkin Colorado. Present during the inspection was Mr. Don Blake of Lincoln County. The site has been in reclamation since 1999 and prior to that, natural reclamation was taking place. According to Mr. Blake, site had been inactive since 1990.Since 1999, the area has been seeded twice with the approved seed mix. On 8-23-01, the Division denied the release request due to in adequate vegetation cover and some erosion features. Pit floor was holding some water, the post mining land use for the area includes stock ponds. Since 1999, according to Don, due to the draught conditions the past few years, it has been difficult to maintain adequate vegetation cover. In addition the area was partly covered with what appeared to be noxious weeds. According to Don, the County has a weed control plan. Since it was not provided with the permit application, the Division requests Lincoln County to provide the plan, so it can be placed in the permit document. No major erosion features noted during the inspection Because the site has been reclaimed and the County has a weed control plan, the fact that noxious weeds are present will not be reported as a POSSIBLE PROBLEM in the inspection report. The reclaimed slopes appeared stable and sparsely vegetated. Permit sign and boundary markers in place. No major problem noted.
