The roads have
been maintained adequately.
4.05 Hydrologic Balance
The technicalities of flow direction for the sediment control facilities were. discussed.
lle discussed if the modifications of flow had triggered a small rock fall at the face up
for the portal. It didn't appear to have had any effect, but frost heave may increase
the probability of failure to the left of the previous fall and should be periodically
checked as the cooler season progresses.
The operator should supply the field data from the water quality sampling. The Division
hasn't come up with a theory regarding the high iron content in the upstream water
samples as yet. Since the increase is not due to the mining operation it is not a
problem with the operation. A water quality sample should be taken of your mine water.
This sample should be taken before the o-rater enters the sediment pond. This information
will be used during the permit review to substantiate the prediction of the probable
hydrologic consequences.
4.15 Revegetation
The disturbed area at the Apex No. 2 Mine is very small therefore reference areas will
not be required but an analysis of representative vegetation communities in the general
area will be needed. Also, alternative investigation measures will be needed in the
adjacent area to substantiate if the research information is representative.
