III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach and David Berry of the Colorado Division
of Minerals and Geology. No one else was present. Greg Lewicki, the operator's consultant was
notified prior to the inspection but was not present during the inspection. The site was covered with a
few inches of partially melted snow. Wet snow was falling during the inspection.
SIGNS AND MARKERS
The two mine i.d. signs on County Rd. 29 still need to be updated to show the operator's current
address and phone number, and, as required by 4.30.1(3), the DMG's name, address, and phone
number. Other signs required on the site were up and contained the correct information.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE
Ditches and Culverts
Ditches D4, D6, and DS appeared to meet design capacity, and appeared in good condition. The
Swale in the road appear to be functioning properly as it carried snowmelt. Culvert C-4 was clear and
functioning properly.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE
There is still a discarded electric motor and other debris that should be removed 75 feet west of the
yard area, beneath the willow trees approximately 100 feet south of County Rd. 29.
SLIDES AND DAMAGE
No new slumping or sliding is evident in either the portal bench or office SAE areas.
-3 -
