The inspection report observed that the 25 foot
buffer berm that separated the North Taft Hill Expansion Pit and the Home Office Pit (Permit
No. M-1977-439) had been mined through, creating one lazge pit.
In order to remain in compliance with the approved reclamation plan, Lafarge will backfil] to
reestablish the Home Office Pit's 25 foot buffer berm between it and the North Taft Hill
Expansion Pit. This will return the pit to its prior approved condition, therefore making a mining
and reclamation plan amendment unnecessary.
Additionally, it was noted in the inspection report that a Notice of Temporary Cessation must be
submitted in writing to the Division as the pit has been inactive for more than 180 days. A Notice
of Temporary Cessation for North Tafr Hill Expansion Pit is also being submitted at this time.
Please contact Eric Reckentine at 970-407-3620 with any further comments or questions.
Sincerely,
Noel Weisenbacher
Mapping/Weed Specialist
LAFARGE WEST, INC.
10770 Church Ranch Way, Suite 200, Westminster, Colorado 80021
Telephone: (303) 6574000 Facsimile: (303) 6574037
