Carter from the Division of Minerals and Geology, performed a partial <br />inspecdan of the Hawk's Nest Mine in Gurmison Courty. The weather was cloudy and cold at the time <br />of the inspection. At this time, except for a few locations that have steep slopes oriented to the south, <br />the site was covered with snow. <br />S4t-da: <br />Old State Highway 133 was clear and dry except far the location of the west spring at the east portal. At <br />this location water from the spring was running across the highway. <br />• The west spring at the east portal continues to be active and is saturating the slope above the <br />highway. The barrow ditch has not yet been pulled Therefore, the water is unable to mach the <br />culvert and is mm~ing across the highway. <br />• A small amount of free water and snow is in the sedimentation pond. <br />Stidea and Dama~e• <br />The saturated soils above Old Highway 133 am moving further onto the highway than was observed <br />over the pest several months. <br />
