(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1979-140
INSPECTION DATE 11-20-2002
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS
This was a routine monitoring inspection conducted as part of DMG s ongoing monitoring program for permitted mines in
Colorado.
The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12.
No significant erosional or sedimentation features were noted on or extending from the affected areas of the site.
The west half of the north pit slope, portions of the east slope, and the west side perimeter of the pit have been graded to a
slope of 3H:1V or less as approved in the reclamation plan. Topsoil replacement depths were not evaluated during this
inspection. The soil on the west half of the north slope is very stony. If topsoil has been replaced on these slopes, Delta
County may wish to perform some rock picking in an attempt to create a better media for revegetation establishment. Recent
excavation areas have various grades of slopes, but for the most part, it appears that the slopes are being reduced to 3:1
promptly after excavation ceases.
No significant infestations of noxious weeds were noted on site during this inspection. However, much of the areas in
reclamation are dominated by kochia and Russian thistle. Delta County is strongly encouraged to reseed these areas in the
spring of 2003 and perform some weed control on these slopes as necessary during the spring and summer.
The asphalt batch plant is not currently on site. The scrubber ponds associated with the plant are currently approximately
three-fourths full and the pond liners appear to be intact.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number 970-243-6368.
I & E Contact Address
NAME
OPERATOR
STREET
CITY/STATE/ZIP
Larrv Record
Delta County
501 Palmer Street, Suite 227
Delta.
