Y
(Page 31 •
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-76-020
INSPECTION DATE 8/19196 INSPEC:TOR'S INITIALS WHE
Observations recorded within this inspection report and data from current survey, indicate that the operabtr is conducting mining
operations in accordance with permit conditions.
Evidence of channel bank reinforcement and erosion repairs were evident on the east and west bank, north of the permit area.
Immediately north of the permit area, the west bank had been previously reinforced with concrete blocks anchored with steel cables.
Concrete blocks and anchor lines had been recently backfilled with alluvial cobbles to result in 2H:1 V slope with natural appearance.
A previous meander along the east bank and north of the permit area, had been backfilled with alluvial gravel and cobbles. Mr.
Schlittgen and Mr. Davis indicated that east bank backfilling had occurred during the mid 1980s. Apparently, the operator backfilled
the east bank meander to repair flood erosion and protect east bank landowner interests. Mr. Schlittgen and Mr. Davis stated that
flood repair activities, conducted by the operator in the mid 1980s has moved the main channel to the west, resulting in a dry east
channel and dry irrigation ditch. Inlet of the Wallace irrigation ditch is located along the east side channel. Flood repair activities
appear to have resulted in the main channel moving further west and away from the inlet of the east side clhannel; however, flood
repair activities did not include "mining activities" and are therefore not regulated by DMG.
I & E Contact Address cc: Tom Gillis, DMG
CE, Nick Mezei
NAME David Kina ^ BL
OPERATOR Mountain Gravel & Construction Co. ^ FS
STREET P.O.
