III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the inspection. Comments
also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts of evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This mine has gone through Phase I on all disturbed azeas, and Phase II and III Bond Release on all but
approximately 8.9 acres. The permit boundary was reduced to enclose 8.9 acres. These acres consist of
four sepazate parcels: three are designated as shrub areas and one a (former and reclaimed) slide area. The
repaired slide azea is to be checked for Phase I compliance.
The site was covered by about two feet of snow. All observations, except for the records check
(Availability of Records), were from Routt County Road 53. Records were checked at the Routt County
Court House and at the office (office) of Hydro-Environmental solutions, Inc.
John Weinman, of Hydro-Environmental Solutions, Inc., accompanied Byron G. Walker, of the Colorado
Division of Minerals and Geology, during this inspection.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS
See the DMG Availability of Records Check Sheet at the end of this report. All records were found on file.
SIGNS AND MARKERS
The only mine identification signs that could be observed from the road were at Pazce1003 and Parcel HG-
8. These signs were in compliance with the rules, and in good repair.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE
The site was covered by snow. No runoff was visible.
FISH AND WILDLIFE
Elk fencing about Parcels 003 and HG-8 was in good repair. The fencing about Pazcel E could not be
seen from the road.
REVEGETATION
Revegetated azeas were covered with snow. Shrubs (in a dormant state) were obvious in Parcels 003
and HG-8.
SLIDES AND DAMAGE
No slides or damage were noted through the snow cover.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS
Reclamation of disturbed areas appeazed, through the snow cover, to be successful.
CC Inspection of 4 April 2006, C-1980-003, Page 3 of 5 pages.
