To that
end, please find the EROSION CONTROL PLAN enclosed, and note that
there are three zones designated to prevent excessive erosion
during the continued mining phase of this operation.
ZONE #1 is the existing materials storage area. The plan is
to construct a berm along the southwest side of this material and
to divert the runoff in the directions of the arrows shown on the
plan.
ZONE #2 is the mined-out area of the pit. The plan is to
lower the ground surface area at the base of the slopes to delay
the surface run-off and to provide an evaporation area for water
collected in these low areas. The water will be ditched in the
direction of the arrows shown on the drainage diagram.
ZONE #3 is a steep access road for use during the mining
operation. Moffat County will build water bars, berms and
ditches to control the excessive erosion in this area.
It is the Road Department's plan to construct these
corrective measures this fall, and to maintain them during the
balance of the mining operation - including the duration of the
proposed Conversion #1 development.
I hope that this plan, and the proposed development, will
properly address the need to stabilize this site according to the
rules. If not, please contact me. Thank you,
s x. pones
stant Road Supervisor)
ROAD SUPERVISOR
P.O.
