Long <br />oiv~t,an Director <br />Ms. Jan Vandenberg <br />7068 County Road 521 <br />Hayfield, CO 81122 <br />RE: Gosney and Sons, Inc., Hayfield No <br />Information Request <br />Dear Ms. Vandenberg: <br />1 Pit, File No. M-87-038, <br />Jim Stevens of our office has asked me to respond to your request for <br />information about the above operation. <br />I inspected the Hayfield No. 1 pit on May 6, 1992 and identified seven <br />problems and established corrective action items and dates for those <br />problems. All of the corrective actions have either been satisfied or <br />have been changed to new items due by January 31, 1993. (See attached <br />copy of November 20, 1992 inspection report). It appears that the <br />operator is in compliance with his permit at this time. However, <br />subsequent inspections may identify other problems. <br />The Bayfield No. 1 Pit was inspected pre-operationally on April e, <br />1987. A monitoring inspection was conducted as a result of a citizen <br />complaint on April 6, 1992. An aerial inspection was conducted <br />June 18, 1992.
