perennials are seeded or transplanted. or if the weeds are noxious or toxic. Weed spraying
is not yet necessary because the second growing season requirement has not yet been met.
and Kochia is not noxious or toxic.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION
The operator was spraying water on haul roads for dust control and no dust was found
leaving the permit area.
SMALL AREA EXEMPTIONS
The silt fence at small area exemption 7 was in good repair.
EROSION CONTROL
The operator has not stripped topsoil as far north (down-slope) as permitted in West Flume
drainage, leaving in places an approximate 100 ft. wide belt of undisturbed ground between
the stripline and the West Flume diversion ditch that lies downhill. Consequently, runoff
could flow onto the undisturbed belt from the disturbed ground uphill from the stripline.
Rather than stripping the undisturbed belt, as permitted (just to eliminate the possibility
of sediment flow from the stripline onto the undisturbed belt). the operator plans to place
a brush filter along the stripline to act as a flow barrier.
PHASE II BOND RELEASE INSPECTION
Summary of field observations - Table 2. below, summarizes observations made during the
bond release portion of the inspection.
Table 2
/ _ "appeared consistent with data in bond release application"
Bond Release Block
A Pit D Pit H Pit
Vegetation:
~ allowable / / /
vegetative cover
/ Cheatgrass is
Annuals/biennials / / especially abundant
as ~ of cover locally, consistent
with the data in the
application.
Litter as ~ of / / /
cover
Shrub stem / / /
density
Weed infestations None None None
Bare spots Minimal size and Minimal size and None
number number
