During the inspection the Division observed that the
permit boundary had been mazked but could not verify that it was marked properly. The report for the
inspection states "At the time of the next inspection, if the pem3it has not been amended, the inspector
should consider verifying the permit boundary using a GPS unit." The permit boundary was not
considered to be a problem at the time of the inspection. Please use the map copy to verify the accuracy
of the perrnit boundary as mazked in the field.
I have also enclosed a copy of the mining plan map for the Eazl-Hoffrnan-Reyher gravel operation, Permit
No. M-1991-086. During the March 21, 2005 inspection, the Division considered the marking of the
permit boundary in the field to be a Problem (No. 3) and required a corrective action of re-mazking the
pernut boundary in accordance with the mining plan map and notifying the Division by June 1, 2005.
The Division is awaze that Bent County is working toward correcting this problem. We aze extending the
corrective action due date to August 1, 2005. As you requested, I have enclosed a copy of the Mining
Plan map as revised by Technical Revision No. 1. The revision moved the boundary to the north. I've
mazked the correct boundary on the map.
Please call me at (303) 866-4922 if you have questions.
Sincerely,
-~~~,-
Larry Oehler
Environmental Protection Specialist
Attachments:
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Geological Survey
