III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
HG Mine C-80-003
16 Jan 04 ~~
Page 1/1
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Hayden Gulch Mine conducted by Jim Stark of
CDMG. The mine has gone through a Phase I and Phase II Bond Release on all but
approximately nine acres. The weather was cold and lightly snowing and the ground
was covered with at least a foot of snow.
All of the necessary records were available for review at the Montgomery Watson
Harza office in Steamboat Springs. Please see the records checklist at the end of the
report for more details.
Because of the large amount of snow, and the fact that the county piles snow at the
entrance to the site, most of the site was inaccessible at the time of the inspection
(and will probably remain that way until late spring).
Shrub parcel HG-08 was observed from the county road. The parcel was covered
with at least a foot of snow but it appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection.
The pond contained water but was not discharging at the time of the inspection
(although the pond is no longer a part of the HG Mine permit.
Shrub Parcel E was inaccessible at the time of the inspection.
The 1997 slump area was inaccessible at the time of the inspection.
Shrub parcel 003 was also observed from the county road. The parcel was also
covered with at least a foot of snow. It, too, appeared to be stable at the time of the
inspection. Pond 003 appeared to be dry at the time of the inspection.
