III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE r E ~ ~_~J~a~~
P~~i, ati~` D~ ~~,
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the GEC mine conducted by Jim Stark of CDMG.
The bond for this site has been forfeited and reclamation was completed by DMG.
The weather was warm, overcast and there were scattered showers during the
inspection.
The Orphan Pit and Duck Pond areas were well vegetated and in good condition.
The vegetative cover on these areas is good and appears to be enough to stabilize
the areas and control erosion. No erosional problems were noted at either of these
areas. The road to these areas is the Corley Mountain Ranch Road. This road is well
maintained and in good condition.
The access road to the East and West Pit areas was a little rutted but in overall good
condition. The East Pit drainage was in good shape. The riprap that was placed in
the two gullies below the road and the top of the drainage appears to be stable.
Both the East and West Pit areas seemed to be well vegetated and in good shape.
The vegetative cover in the East and West Pit areas appears to be getting better. The
vegetation appears to be doing a better job in controlling erosion and stabilizing the
reclaimed areas.
