(Page 2) MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1982-154 INSPECTION DATE 11-20-2002 OBSERVATIONS INSPECTOR'S INITIALS SSS This inspection was conducted as part of The Division of Minerals and Geology (DMG) monitoring program for permitted mines in Colorado. The mine identification sign and affected area boundary markers are in place and in compliance with Rule 3.1.12. No significant infestations of noxious or other problematic weeds were noted on site during this inspection. No significant erosional features were nofed_on the affected areas of the site. The operator indicated that no excavation occurred at the site in the past couple of years. Mining is planned for the upcoming season. The river appears to have recharged the gravel deposit in the permit area, though it has taken more than one year due to low spring runoff rates the past couple of years. The river banks in the vicinity of the pit appear to be stabile, with natural vegetation becoming well established on the north permit boundary and west permit boundary that lies north of the river. Riparian vegetation is becoming established on pit floor in the high water areas of the river channel. Storage of mining and non-mining related equipment continues on site. None of the stored equipment appears to be junk. The reclamation cost estimate was updated and the current financial warranty was determined to be adequate to cover the reclamation liability at this site.
