.~ <br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection, The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />Items of concern from previous inspections: None. <br />There has been collapse at the airshaff located to the north of the upper portals (NW '/4 NW '/< <br />Sec 35, T7N, R89W). This feature is approximately 30 feet long, 15 feet wide, and 10 feet deep. <br />There are also subsidence features on the coal seam midway between the airshaff and upper <br />portals. These items have been referred to AML. <br />This report is based on an aerial inspection of October 11, 2001. Mr. Harry Ranney, <br />Environmental Protection Specialist (EPS) of the Division, made the flight and took Photographs <br />46-01-10-11-1 (1) through 3 (3). This report is compiled by Byron G. Walker, EPS, based on an <br />oral debriefing of Mr. Harry Ranney and a review of photographs taken by Mr. Ranney. Mr. <br />Ranney stated that he saw no problems at the site. The Photographs are on file at the Division. <br />Comments are necessarily limited to the scale and detail of the photographs. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE There is no appearance of water in any of the photographs. There is <br />no appearance of erosional features in the photographs. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES The clean-water interceptor ditch appears in all three of the photographs. <br />It appears to be in good repair. The sedimentation pond appears completely in Photographs <br />1 and 2, and looks to be in good repair. <br />REVEGETATION Revegetation appears sparse on a portion of the stabilized crib wall. This area <br />has rock Cover. This site was revisited on 16 October 2001 by Janet Binns and Byron Walker, EPS <br />of the Division. The predominate weed appeared to be Curlycup gumweed. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS There does not appear to be any erosion of reclamation work <br />(reclamation of the crib wall or the backfill over the lower air intake portal). <br />Page ~ of _4_ Pages, (date) _26 October 2001 (initials) ~cw <br />
