III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII <br />999 <br />1988 Bourg Mine Inspection Summary <br />Inspection Frequency - 14 Inspections <br />4 completes; 10 partials; <br />2 of the partials were aerials; <br />8 of the inspections occurred in the second half of '88 <br />Operations - The Bourg Mine and loadout were reclaimed during 1988. <br />Structures were all removed. Excess coal (10,000 - <br />12,000 tons) from the loadout were backfilled into the <br />pit and covered with at least 25' of material. <br />Topsoiling, seeding, and mulching occurred in October. <br />PR 1 was approved in early September, allowing Bourg to <br />utilize terrace benches as treatment facilities for <br />sediment-entrained waters. All of the ponds were <br />removed. Vegetation cover monitoring and rill and <br />gully studies will be performed each summer to evaluate <br />the success of this treatment. <br />Enforcement Actions - None <br />Inspection Strategy - Spring/summer inspections should assess the erosion <br />development of the site as well as the revegetation. <br />Phase I Bond Release will probably be requested in the <br />spring. Topsoil depths will be measured in July to <br />confirm appropriate placement last fall.
