III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the Sunlight Mine conducted by Erica Crosby of DMG. The mine <br />is a bond forfeiture site, therefore, no company representative was present during the inspection. <br />The inspection involved viewing three aerial photographs taken by Harry Ranney of DMG on <br />January 27, 1998. Several feet of snow cover was present on site. <br />Roads Mine roads were under snow, and did not appear passable. <br />Hydrologic Balance The upper diversion ditch was under snow cover, and appeared functional. <br />No major erosion features were noted. <br />Backfilling & Grading The backfilled mine area and portals were mainly under snow, but <br />showed no signs of instability. <br />
