~Y g
`'GCC
wi. c.ana.
~nspaob~on
September 29, 2005
Mr. Tony Waldron Sent Via Fax
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology Original Sent Via US ~CE~VED
Mined Land Reclamation Board
1313 Sherman St., Room 215 OCT 0 3 2005
Denver, CO 80203
Re: Permit # M-2002-004 Red Rock Plant & Limestone Mine Oivisian of Minerals za.' iia~lo0Y
Dear Mr. Waldron:
I write as a follow up to our conversation last week regarding the action items noted in your financial
warranty inspection report. This inspection was conducted on July 1, 2005. GCC Rio Grande, Inc.
(Rio Grande) received the inspection report on September 6, 2005. The inspection report listed two
action items including updating the identification signs at the entrance to the mine and establishing
markers that clearly delineate the boundary of the permit area.
Identification Siens The identification signs at the entrance to the mine have been updated to
include the name of the operator, a statement indicating that a reclamation permit for the operation
has been issued by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board, and the Permit Number. This
work was completed on September 28, 2005. I have included photographs of the updated signs for
your review.
Permit Area Bouudary Markers After reviewing maps of the permit area, it has become cleaz that
to ensure the accurate placement of the boundary markers, it will be necessary to perform a
professional survey of the permit area boundary. Given the large size of the permit area Rio Grande
is requesting an extension to November 30, 2005 in which to complete this work. Rio Grande has
not yet commenced mining operations at the site. When mining operations aze commenced, the
initial mining effort will be well within the boundaries of the permit area. Rio Grande greatly
appreciates your consideration of this extension request.
Please don't hesitate to contact me at (505) 286-6026 should you have any questions regarding this
information.
Sincerely, / t~
Brian D.
