<br /> <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #M-77-321 <br />INSPECTION DATE 10-22-99 <br />(Page 2) <br /> <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS HK <br />The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site on 10-22-99. The site is <br />a 110(2) clay mine located with in the city limits of Pueblo. Present during the inspection <br />were, Mr. Mark Welte and Mr. Buck Barnhart the operator's representatives were present. The <br />area was first mined in 1915. According to the annual report and observed on site, the <br />operator has conducted reclamation work in the pre-law disturbed areas. No reclamation has <br />been conducted in the permitted area. The reclaimed slopes in the pre-law area were stable, <br />no major erosional features were noted. Top soil stockpile properly placed and protected with <br />in the permit area. The area is mined on as need basis and usually, reclamation is <br />concurrent. The financial warranty was raised in 1995 to $6500.00. Since the disturbance is <br />less than what it was in 1995, the warranty appears to be adequate at this time. However, if <br />the mining plan changes, the operator is to notify the Division so the warranty can be <br />adjusted accordingly.
