III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
The water level in Pond RP-5 was approximately 8 feet below the emergency spillway. This
pond has a combined emergency and primary spillway. The inlet on the north side of the pond
appears to have some erosion occumng in the channel. According to the operator, this inlet has
remained stable and additional riprap or armoring may result in additional erosion occurring
elsewhere in the inlet channel. The operator also pointed out a very small crack that has formed
on the top of the dam on the east side of Pond RP-5. The dam is stable and the crack does not
appear to be problematic.
Pond RP-1 was holding water but not discharging. The water level in the pond was
approximately 4-5 feet below the primary spillway. The inlet to this pond was in good condition
with no significant erosion occurring.
Pond SS-1 at the slot storage area was holding water but not discharging. Pond SS-2 was dry.
Railroad Pond 3 was holding very little water at the time of the inspection. Storm water traps
and other containment sumps at the Railroad Maintenance and Load Out azeas were viewed and
appeazed to be functioning as intended.
Suooort Facilities
Abundant scrap material, debris, and some trash has accumulated at the East Portal lay down
azea. Please continue to maintain this area by removing accumulated trash and disposing other
unusable materials and debris.
