III. COMMENTS - COMPLLANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This aerial inspection was flown on February 7, 2003. The digital images were reviewed <br />on February 14, 2003. No problems with compliance were observed at the time of the <br />overflight. <br />Facilities <br />~~ <br />Most of the mine site facilities area was covered in snow. The paved road leading to the <br />mine site was mostly cleaz of snow and appeazed to be passable. The bridge was snow <br />covered but appeazed to be passable. There did not appear to be any problems with the <br />office. <br />Hydrology <br />The sediment pond appeazed to have some ice and snow at the bottom of the pond. The <br />collection ditch.deading to the sediment pond was snow covered as well. <br />The Edwazds portal spring water treatment pond did not appear to have ice or snow in it. <br />The water level in the treatment pond was at the usual level for dischazge. There were no <br />problems with embankment instability. <br />The lazge berm separating the mine site from the river appeazed to be intact. <br />c:\word\beaz3\insp0203 <br />
