A site inspection was made of the Thomas Gravel Pit No. 4 as part of the Division's 4-year
inspection program. A rangeland seed mix will then be applied-
3. Mining is nearly completed at the Thomas Gravel Pit No. 4. A significant portion of the
previous mining disturbance has been graded, topsoiled, and seeded. Remaining disturbance
consist of the current working face, processing area, and mine bench used for storage of
product stockpiles. All disturbances were found to be well within the permit area.
4. Approximately 3-4 acres of the mine bench that has been seeded contains a significant weed
cover, although no noxious weeds were noted. Mr. Nelson was encouraged to reseed or re-
topsoil and reseed this area. Revegetation on other reclaimed slopes contained a grass cover
with little or no evidence of weeds or erosion.
5. An entrance sign and permit area markers were posted as required by Rule 3.1.12.
I & E Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Mr. Greer Nelson ^ BL
OPERATOR Weld County Public Works ^ FS
STREET P.O.
