<br />III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. The ground was dry. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br />The pond was dry. <br />Ditch D-8 and the perimeter ditches in the facilities yard were good shape <br />REVEGETATION <br />Jim Irvine. a contractor working for the operator. was sampling vegetation on the site for <br />an anticipated Phase II/III bond release application. He was using a laser point frame on <br />25 meter transects for cover and diversity sampl~n9, and a half-meter square hoop for <br />production sampling. His methodology was checked against the approved methodology <br />described on permit pages 184-15 and 184-16, and appeared to be ~n Compliance. <br />In the facilities yard area. mountain brome dominates. There is sparse orchard grass. blue <br />grass, a wheat grass. and unidentified fortis. Vegetation is more diverse on the former <br />portal bench area. <br />SLIDES AND DAMAGE <br />No new rock falls are apparent on the former portal bench. <br />
