We have
contacte,j the operators (Centennial Materials and Jones Fine Sand) and have instructed them
on the requirements. They have indicated that a two wire electric fence will be put in-place
and have, started on this work. We have also been working with the State Land Board to
make sure the fence is installed in a timely manner to exclude grazing. We will wmmit to
getting the fencing installed. Mark Davis at the State Land Board has suggested we talk with
the Land Board because there may be some interest on their part to participate in the fencing
if it will become a permanent improvement on the property.
We have also contacted the rancher regarding the cattle and are in the process of coordinating
the removal of the cattle from the site once the fencing is installed. The rancher has
indicated that he is in the process of obtaining some Federal assistance for fencing in addition
to that which we intend to install. We believe he will cooperate with us in selecting the
locations that will be most logical to protect future reclamation efforts on the site.
We are cooperating with DMG on this issue and are complying with the regulations. If you
have any questions, please do not hesitate to call.
Cordiall},
TUTTLE APPLEGATE, INC.
~~~
Mike Applegate, P.E.
CMA/sjr
ce: File #92-155
n:rvztss~,y~R.l~r
11990 Grant Street, Sui[e 410 • Denver, Colorado 80233 • (3031 452-6611 • Fax (3031452-2759
