III. COM1EtJTS - COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. the comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Commenrr also describe any enforcement actions taken duriny <br />the inspection and the facts or evid~•~~_~ supporting *he enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection eonduc'..ed b; dent G;;rnam of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. This former underground mine was reclaimed and reseeded in <br />1996 and early 1997. The mine has achieved a Phase II bond release for the <br />majority of the disturbed area. Ground conditions were wet and muddy. Lightening <br />terminated the inspection i!n .June 16. The site was revisited on June 11 to <br />complete the inspection. the ~.veather was abnormally cool and overcast with <br />afternoon thunderstorms. <br />Signs and Markers <br />The mine identification sign is located on the north side of the railroad tracks <br />along thre access road. It contained the required information in accordance with <br />Rules 4.02.2(1) and 4.30.2(3). <br />Revegetation <br />The vegetation on the main facility reclaimed area is peaking due to excellent <br />growing conditions. Most species are flowering and completing the reproductive <br />stage of their growth cycle. The operator should take necessary measures to limit <br />the proliferation of weeds as has been done in the past.
