A report of her inspection was received at the Camp Bird <br />Mine on September 6, 1988. Jim Points, then Resident Manager at <br />Camp Bird, responded to the issues identified in the inspection <br />report on September 7, 1988. This correspondence is in your files, <br />but I have enclosed a copy for your quick reference. <br />Issues discussed iri this section correspond directly to the <br />numerical order in which Mr. Points addressed them on Pages 3 and <br />4 of the inspection report form: <br />ITEM 1 - REGARDING BOULDER IN THE TAILING POND: <br />Mr. Points committed to provide a professional engineer's statement <br />regarding tailings pond stability with respect to the boulders in <br />the pond. An appropriate certification statement, by Charles C. <br />Bowman, P.E. of Chal•les C. Bowman and Associates, is included in <br />this package. <br />ITEM 2 - REGARDING EROSION CONTROL ON SLOPE TOES: <br />Mr. Points' response indicated that riprap would be checked for <br />future erosion and further remedial action would be taken only if <br />necessary. <br />Riprap referred to in Item 2.1 is shown on the enclosed photographs <br />2,3,4 and 5. None of these pictures identify areas where remedial <br />work for erosion control is warranted. No additional erosion Mr. <br />
