Pa e 2
MINE ID # OR INSPECTOR'S
PROSPECTING ID #: M-1981-085 INSPECTION DATE: 08!15/2006 INITIALS: RMW
This inspection was conducted as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) monitoring
program. Present at the inspection was Richard Wenzel of the Division. Jim Struble of the Northern Colorado
Water Conservancy District was contacted prior to the inspection but was unable to be present. However, he
indicated that Noble Underbrink would be available if necessary; he was not contacted.
A sign was posted at the entrance to the site, which was secured by a metal gate and permit boundaries were
identified.
At the time of this inspection, no mining activity was occurring at the site and no equipment was on site. The mining
that has taken place up to this point has been toward the east and south into a ridge of basalt, creating a high wall
varying in height from approximately six feet to twenty feet. No salvaged topsoil, overburden or material stockpiles
were was observed on site. However, based on observation of adjacent undisturbed areas little to topsoil or
overburden exists in this area.
Overall, the site was very neat and well maintained. There was no evidence of erosion, indicating that storm water
runoff is well controlled and contained within the affected area. No problems were identified during this inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Richard Wenzel at the Division of Reclamation, Mining
and Safety, Denver Office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone number 303-866-
4935.
Enforcement and Inspection Contact Address
NAME: Mr. Jim Struble
OPERATOR: Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District
STREET: 202 Water Avenue
CITY/STATE2IP: Berthoud, Colorado 80513
cc
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers CO Hazardous Materials and Waste Division
U.S. Bureau of Land Management CO State Engineers Office
U.S. Forest Service CO Water Quality Control Division
CO Department of Transportation OTHER:
