• (Page 2) •
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1987-n7g
INSPECTION DATE: a-~S-ni INSPECTORS INITIALS: _~_
OBSERVATIONS
The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of tie site as part of sites to be inspected for the fiscal year
2001- 2002. The site is a small 110(2) sand and gravel operation, located approximately 20 miles north
East of Burlington Colorado along the dry bed of Sand Creek. On January 19, 2000, the Division approved a
Technical Revision application, which placed the site on an intermittent status, in accordance with Rule
1.13.7. The site is operated on as need basis. A couple of what appeared to be processed stockpiles were
noted with in the permit area. It would be of benefit to Kit Carson County and the state to provide a better
location map for all the sites with in the county, using County Road Maps. The majority of the Division's
time was spent, trying to locate these small in stream mines. Lynda Brownfield, the County Administrator
was notified of this problem and agreed to provide such map as soon as possible. Permit sign and boundary
markers appeared to be in place. Mr. Walt Isenbert the County representative, who is in charge of these
opeartions, during a meeting on Wednesday the 14"' stated that, the County was having difficulty keeping
the permit signs in place due to hunters and locals using them for target practice. He was informed that the
Division understands the problem and will take into rnnsideration the reported problem when conducting
an inspection. No major problem noted during this inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Lvnda Brownfield
OPERATOR: KIT CARSON COUNTY
STREET: P.O BOX 160
CITY/STATE/ZIP: BuRI rNC;TON,.
