Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Hayden Gulch Mine conducted by Jim Stark of
CDMG. The mine site is reclaimed. The weather was cool and overcast and the
ground was dry.
Signs and Markers: All of the permit boundary and mine ID signs were posted. The
fences around the three shrub parcels were in good condition and marked.
Hydrologic Balance: -Pond 003 contained water but was not discharging. The pond
was well vegetated and appeared to be in good condition.
- Pond HG-8 also contained water. This pond was not discharging either. The pond
was well vegetated and appeared to be in good condition.
Fish and Wildlife: No wildlife was observed at the site during this inspection.
Reveaetation/Reclamation Success: The three shrub parcels are all doing well. The
shrubs appear to be in good condition. The grasses in the shrub parcels also appear
to be doing well. The slump area where the underdrain was installed in 1998 is also
covered with grass.
Slides and Damage: The steel stakes that have been placed across the slump area
are all still in alignment. There did not appear to be any water coming out of the
underdrain beneath the slump area.
