III. Comments - Compliance
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of
observations made during the inspection. Comments also describe any
enforcement actions taken during the inppection and the facts or evidence
All of the hydrologic monitoring stations were examined during this
inspection. All wells were capped and labelled with an adjacent wooden
lathe. The surface water sites did not have specific identification posts.
However, the operator indicated that monitoring was assessed on straight
reaches at least 50' in length and that cross-sections were run each time flow
was monitored. .Low flows were monitored with a portable flume. The Oak Creek
site, adjacent to the West Loadout was the only surface site with running
water. However, this site had been dammed every 150' by beavers. In order to
obtain useful flow information the operator was told to eliminate beavers in
the stretch or establish a new monitoring site and acquire at least two sets
of data from both the old site and the new site to show a correlation between
the two. A six month deadline was imposed.

0310E/scg
