(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1979-155
INSPECTION DATE: inii9/nn INSPECTORS INITIALS: C'I K
OBSERVATIONS
The following observations were made during a routine made of this 9.3 acre 110 site.
1) No sign is posted at the entrance to the site. The boundaries do not appear to
have been marked, unless it is with the natural road boundaries and physical
limits of the excavation. These must be remedied within 30 days. (P81)
2) Adequate topsoil to reclaim the excavated portion of the site appears to have been
stockpiled. The current area of disturbance in the actively worked portion of the
site appears to be approximately 2 acres, well under the 10 acres allowed in the
Mining Plan.
3) The site was measured with a measuring wheel, and the smaller, main excavation was
found to be 150'x 175' across. A second excavation bench above and to the west of
this one was not measured, due to the rough terrain, but appeared to be twice the
size of the main area. A stockpile of volcanic rock south of the excavation
appeared to be half the size of the main excavation area (the same width, but only
half the length). Stockpiles of topsoil lined the east and west sides of the
excavation, at a height of 6'.
4) The site is not being actively worked at this time. No personnel or equipment were
on the site at the time of the inspection. The site is now being used as a dumping
ground for trash and garbage such as old mattresses, motors, and various cans and
bottles. No exposed groundwater or pooling surface water was present at the time
of the inspection.
5) The sides of the terrace had slopes of approximately 1H:1V, with the exception of
the north side, whose slopes approached highwall.
No other problems were noted at the site at this time.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Weldon Allen
OPERATOR: Colorado Dept, of Transportation
STREET: 606 South 9th
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Grand .lunction.
