The main purpose of the inspection
was, to inspect the clay liner deployment to the 20 million-gallon pond being constructed South of the ARD
building as approved in TR-33. Present during the inspection were, Mr. Phil Barnes and Mr. Mark Tidquist of
CC&V. Inspected the pond, clay liner was being deployed, the clay lined area was walked and inspected no
problem noted. Golder QA/QC were on site, a brief discussion with Bob Nickels of Golder was held,
regarding the time frame for geo membrane deployment. He stated that at present the moisture content of
the deployed clay was higher than allowable and he does not foresee deployment until the 25"' or later. The
perimeter of the pond was walked and inspected, no problem noted. Continued the inspections to the phase
II are a pregnant solution collection system and recorded the following readings from the high and low
volume transducers. High volume solution collection transducer # 4 was recorded at 11.9, # 5 were
recorded at 16.6 and # 6 were recorded at 17.8. Low volume solution collection transducer # 1 was
recorded at .08 and # 2 were recorded at .Ol. Since the large
portion of the water shed will not be a factor for another five years, CCB:V wants to place a pond, at present
unknown capacity and size, in the phase III area, design and capacity to be provided at a later date. CCB:V
representatives were informed to add the changes a TR will have to be submitted or added to the pending
TR, if the capacity of the pond exceeds a certain design criteria.
