Lund <br />Division Director <br />The Kerr Coal Company is requesting a phase I bond release for two areas known <br />as the 720 Pit and Pit No. 1. The Division had deemed the application for bond <br />release complete on April 25, 1994. The two areas contain Federal, State And <br />private land. <br />On May 12, 1994 a bond release inspection was conducted at the Kerr Coal <br />Company, Marr Strip Mine. The operator is requesting a phase I bond release for <br />the 720 Pit and Pit No. 1 areas. The weather during this inspection was clear and <br />warm. The operator said that several weeks ago there was a 1' snowfall, however <br />during the inspection the ground was dry. Wilkes III Colorado State Land Board <br />Jerry Nettleton Terra Matrix <br />George Patterson Kerr Coal Company, Marr Strip Mine <br />This bond release inspection was conducted pursuant to Rule 3.03.2 to evaluate the <br />reclamation work completed in accordance with the approved permit and with the <br />rules of the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. The Division considered <br />among other things, the results of inspections and monitoring conducted pursuant to <br />4.05.13 and 5.02, the degree of difficulty to complete any remaining reclamation, and <br />Marr Strip, Bond Release 1 May 24, 1994 <br />
