r
COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE ~~ ~,~~ _~3
~ 8ec mO ~~
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was an aerial inspection of the GEC Mine. The photographs were taken by Harry
Ranney of CDMG. The bond for this site has been forfeited and reclamation was
completed by DMG. The weather appeared to be overcast and the ground had
patches of snow.
The East Pit area appeared to be in good condition and well vegetated. The riprap
that was placed in the two gullies below the road and at the top of the drainage
appear to be stable. There does not appear to be any new erosional problems at
this area.
The West Pit area also appeared to be in good condition and well vegetated. The
photos show some gullying in the West Pit but they appear to be the same as they
have been for the past several years.
There were no photographs taken of Chen's Hill, the Duck Pond, the Orphan Pit or
the tipple area.
