The Red Canyon Mine is considered a previously disturbed area.
In accordance with Colorado Rule 4.15.10(1) ([he revegetation success standards for
previously disturbed areas) and the approved permit application package demonstration
of revegetation success is based solely a total absolute vegetative cover of 23 8, and
will not involve comparison of the reclaimed area to a reference area. No production,
woody stem or species diversity success standards apply.
In 1997, based on 18 samples, the total perennial vegetative cover was 42.0 8. This
exceeds the standard of 238. The 18 samples meet sample adequacy.
In 1998, based on 20 samples, the total perennial vegetative cover was 90.6 8. This
exceeds the standard of 238. The 20 samples meet sample adequacy.
In accordance with the State program and the approved permit application package, the
Red Canyon Mine has adequately demonstrated revegetation success.
