(Page 4)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING 1D # M-1977-378
INSPECTION DATE 8/29/05
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS WHE
Reclamation crew was preparing the treatment ponds for removal of sludge and final reclamation of the
ponds. The security building, damaged by avalanche last winter, had been removed, only the concrete
pad and foundation remained. The operator indicated that all remaining buildings and structures are
scheduled for removal during construction season 2006. Remaining reclamation to be completed at the
American Tunnel area appears limited to backfilling the portal, removal of all mine related buildings and
structures, grading to stable slopes appropriate for the post-mining land use and establishment of an
appropriate vegetative cover.
Financial Warranty
Observations made during the inspection and recorded in this report indicate that the operator has
completed significant portions of the reclamation plan for the Lake Emma, Terry Tunnel, MayFlower Pond
4, TR-26 borrow area and American Tunnel areas. Pursuant to Rule 4.2.1(1 }and (4}, and in response to
SR-04, DMG has calculated the current cost of reclamation totaling $146,151. Enclosed with this report
are 26 pages of summary, worksheets and data sheets utilized by DMG to estimate the current cost of
reclamation.
Therefore, on October 6, 2005, DMG approved SR-04. Under SR-04, DMG approved a $353,849
reduction in the amount of financial warranty required for the operation, from the existing $500,000 to an
amount of warranty not less than $146,151. At this time, DMG recommends that financial warranty be no
less than $146,151 to ensure the successful completion of reclamation as required under the approved
reclamation plan and Act and Rules.
No problems or possible violations were observed.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to the Division of Minerals and Geology, 701
Camino del Rio, Room 125, Durango, Colorado 81301, Attn: Wally Erickson, phone no. 970-247-5469.
I & E Contact Address
NAME Larry Perino
OPERATOR Sunnyside Gold Corporation
STREET P.O.
