OBSERVATIONS
The Division conducted a monitoring and pre operational inspection of the Amendment on 4-28-00 Present during the
The ore-operational inspection of the Amendment #8 area began around the American Eagle over look area. Scott Lewis
gave a brief explanation of the Amendment area using an Arial Photograph and a map He explained how the Squaw Gulch
and Arequa Gulch areas would be expanded under the pending Amendment. He also pointed out the main Cresson mine
and how it is planned to be expanded under the Amendment. The inspection continued to the Island Schist area of the
Amendment where the northern most expansion of the permit Amendment area was pointed out from that location.
Inspected the East west and South portion of the pending Amendment areas both Scott Lewis and Lawrence Myers gave a
brief explanation of the pending Amendment area. The amendment area was as described in the Amendment apQication.
Due to the difficulty of placing Amendment boundary markers because of the configuration of the Amendment area. where
applicable. natural features such as ridgelines were used to mark the boundary of the amended area

Inspected the pregnant pond area of Phase II and recorded the following readines from the Low and high volume collection
system pressure transducers.
LOW VOLUME TRANSDUCER_9i1 READ 42 AND #2 READ 17 feet of head BOTH PUMPS WERE ON AT THE TIME OF
THE INSPECTION. LIMIT IS 2 FEET OF HEAD
HIGH VOLME TRANSDUCERS #4 READ 15.4 #S READ 18.0 AND #6 READ 20.9 feel of head. LIMIT IS 47 FFET OF HEAD.
