ORIGINAL -PUBLIC FILE
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: +~+-Igan-ode
INSPECTION DATE: ~./15/n~ INSPECTOR[7S INITIALS: _-BI'~
OBSERVATION
The Division conducted a monthly monitoring inspection of the site on
9/15/06.Present during the inspection were Tim Comer and Gray Goodrich of
CC&V.
Inspected the old pads #3 and 4 ponds ponds 6,7 &S CC&V plans to dewater
the rest of the pond water and fold the liners and bury them in
anticipation of completing the recalamtion. Pond water is approved to be
utilized for dust control with in the permit area. Approval was granted by
both the Division and CDOH&E. The pad material is being utilized for
stemming during exploration activities. CC&V plans to complete the
reclamation of the area with in the next few months; Site could be ready
for top soiling and seeding sometime next year.
Inspected the East Cresson pit area, both back filling and mining was
taking place at the time of the inspection. The north facing slopes of the
East Cresson backfilled area has been graded and seeded( NOT TOP-SOILED).
CC&V wanted to make sure what the future plans of the area will not change,
prior to applying top soil. The haul road from the Wild Horse to East
Cresson mine is taking shape and could be completed by the next month. CC&V
plans to add a new top soil stockpile area in the vicinity. It will be
submitted with the next TR, when final plans are completed for the site. It
now appears CC&V might reclaim most of the East Cresson pit area, to
original contour.
CC&V was notified that the Division will not object if all the pits are
reclaimed to original contour.
Inspected the Iron Clad Globe Hill area. Mr. Goodrich mentioned the fact
that Douglas County had been removing mine over burden rocks, to complete
the high way 67 breach that was caused by the July storms. Since all
mineable commodities can be processed and or removed from site with the
exception of spent ore, which can be removed after it meets the
detoxification standards set by DRMS, AND ONLY AFTER RECEIVING WRITTEN
APPROVAL from DRMS, the Division does not see a problem removing overburden
from site for road work. Teller County was utilizing such material for
their road use in Squaw Gulch in 1996 and 97.
Inspected the main Cresson mine it was active at the time of the
inspection. Inspected the Phase IV pad area where additional pipes were
placed to facilitate solution flow when the pad is loaded. DRMS requested
to leave the pipes open until the end of winter, to make sure that they are
operating as designed. CC&V agreed to leave them exposed. Observed well
pump testing of SGMW-52 in anticipation of future use for the area and
normal data collecting.
Inspected the Carlton Mill discharge area. All five ponds were holding
water and were in good repair. The few tamarisks that were present have
been removed and ponds appeared to be functioning as designed.
Inspected PHASEI,I,II,III &IV Leach pads and collected the following
readings from the high and low volume solution collection transducers.
