( Page 2 )
MZNE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-83-141
INSPECTION DATE 10/10/O1 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC
OBSERVATIONS
This was an inspection of the Cash Who Do Mine conducted by Erica Crosby of the Division
of Minerals and Geology. Mark Steen represent ling ITEC Environmental Colorado, Inc.
("ITEC") was present during the inspection. Weather conditions on site were cool and dry.
Mark Steen became the permittee contact person for ITEC starting in May of 2001. Mr.
Steen is also the landowner of the property associated with the Gold Hill Mill, Cash/Who
Do Mine and portions of adjacent lands.
No mining was taking place during the inspection. The Cash mine dump area was stable, and
no major erosion features were noted. The operator estimated that approximately 20,000
tons of material is on site. The operator indicated that they might regrade the dump area
for better access down to Four Mile Road. In addition, the regrading will stabilize the
foundation of the red building.
The Who Do Mine portal was locked and secured. No problems were noted.
The operator applied for a Temporary Cessation Application ("TC") on September 8, 1999.
The Division requested additional information regarding the application in two letters
dated September 30, 1999 and December 30, 1999. The operator requested an indefinite
extension of the decision due date to resolve corporate issues. At this time, the
Division is requesting the operator to address the status of the TC application. Attached
to this report is the rule regarding indication of temporary cessation. Upon further
review of these regulations, it does appear that the Gold Hill Mill and Cash Who Do Mine
do fall under the status of temporary cessation. The operator should be aware that if the
mine goes into production, even for a short period, then the temporary cessation clock
would start over at year 1. Therefore, the operator will need to address the issues
identified in the two 1999 letters sent by the Division to ITEC by October 31, 2001.
I 8 E Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Mr. Mark Steen ^ BL
OPERATOR ITEC Environmental Colorado Inc. ^ FS
STREET P.O.
