Page 2/2 Deserado C-81-018 <br />28 Oct 2004 <br />Hydrologic Balance (cont.): -Pond RR-1 was wet at the bottom at the time of the <br />inspection. Pond RR-2 contained a small amount of water at the time of the <br />inspection. Both pond embankments appeared to be stable and there were no <br />erosional problems noted on either embankment. <br />-The roadside ditches along the mine access road, the conveyor corridor and the <br />haul road to the refuse pile all had water flowing in them. The water was flowing <br />unimpeded in all of the ditches. The ditches appeared to be stable and well <br />maintained. <br />Processing Waste: -Refuse Pile RP-2/3/4 appeared to be stable at the time of the <br />inspection. Although it was and has been raining, there was no water pooling on the <br />surface of the pile and there was very little erosion on the pile outslopes. <br />- Refuse pile RP-Sa appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. Although it <br />was and has been raining, there was no water pooling on the surface of the pile and <br />there was no erosion on the pile outslopes. <br />- Refuse Pile RP-1 was well vegetated and stable at the time of the inspection. Very <br />little water was running off of the pile and into pond RP-1. <br />Support Facilities: -The slot storage area was stable and showed no signs of erosion <br />at the time of the inspection. There was some water pooling on the pad but it did not <br />appear to be a problem. The access road and roadside ditches were all stable and <br />well maintained. <br />- The loadout area was stable at the time of the inspection. There did not appear to <br />be any mingling of the equipment between the loadout and the mine. <br />Fish and Wildlife: -There were several doe and one buck by the conveyor along <br />County Road 64. <br />
