III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during <br />the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection flown by Harry Ranney of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology on February 1. 2002. Oblique aerial photographs were <br />reviewed by Kent Gorham of CDMG on February 8, 2002. This former underground mine <br />is reclaimed. Some buildings remain as permanent for use by the landowner. <br />Hvdrologic Balance <br />The mine site was snow-covered on this day. The sediment pond was clearly visible <br />and appeared to have good capacity. The pond embankment appeared intact and <br />normal. Cattails were visible in the bottom of the pond. It did not appear that <br />any runoff was occurring at the time of the photograph. Snow depths appeared to <br />be minimal. <br />Processing Waste <br />The processing waste b <br />excellent. No slides. <br />areas were noted. The <br />snow-covered. Contour <br />slope above the refuse <br />included below. <br />ink was also clearly visible. Light and ground contrast was <br />slumps, or damage to the waste bank or the steeper slope <br />south facing slope above the waste bank was only partially <br />furrows established during the interseeding efforts on the <br />bank looked functional.
