Seeding of the site should now be
accomplished by broadcast methods, taking care to disturb the native, beneficial perennial vegetation as little as possible. This
required seeding will need to take place as soon as possible after the above noted regrading. If possible, the Indian rice grass
seed should be spread over the regraded areas and buried into the soil with the equipment tracks. The remaining seed can
be broadcast over the surface and preferably raked in. The use of a certified weed free mulch at 2 tons per acre would also
be recommended. If possible, the remaining reclamation should be completed this season, prior to ground freeze. The lack
of timely completion of reclamation is listed as a problem, with required corrective actions, on the last page of this report.
The reclamation cost estimate for this site will be calculated in the near future and forwarded to the operator at that time.
If the reclamation is completed this season, except for re-seeding and additional weed control, then the current reclamation
bond amount will most likely be adequate to cover the remaining reclamation liability and no increase will be required.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Steve Shuey at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand Junction
Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, phone number 970-243-6368.
NAME
OPERATOR
STREET
CITY/STATE/ZIP
cc:
^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WOCD (CH)
^ OTHER
